Kale Hensley is a poet and visual artist from West Virginia. Their writing has appeared in Gulf Coast, Booth, Evergreen Review, Image, and Sonora Review. They were selected by Adele Elise Williams as the recipient of the 2026 Elmer Kelton Prize for Poetry and selected by Jaia Hamid Bashir for the Clarion Poetry Prize. The work of Cristina, the mind behind my lover the morning star, is constantly morphing and shifting into newer iterations. Right after disbanding her solo project Of the Muses, the Italian singer-songwriter felt the need to start from scratch and allow herself to venture beyond the boundaries of black metal and rock music that defined her musical output up to that point. Thus, my lover the morning star was established in 2025, propelled by the search for a more spacious, maybe even enigmatic sonic palette. The debut EP, La Fleur de sa Peau / Armure Dorée (“the flower of [his] skin / golden armor” ) saw the light on May 20, 2026; consisting of two tracks, entirely written, mixed and mastered by Cristina herself, it marks the beginning of a new creative phase, devoted to mysticism, romance, reverb and minimalistic soundscapes somewhere in between ambient, drone and dark folk.
Brigita Zelca-Aispure is a visual artist. Her solo exhibitions have been featured at the Art Museum ARSENĀLS, Kaņepes Kultūras centrs, the University Botanical Garden, Riga Cathedral’s garden, the Art Academy of Latvia, Glass Gallery, and the Riga Design and Art Secondary School in Latvia. Her work can be found in the collections at the Latvian National Museum of ARt, the Glasmuseet Ebeltoft in Denmark, and the National Museum in Lviv, Ukraine. Matti Ben-Lev is a queer little guy who thinks his art is important. He has, shockingly, through the power of manipulation convinced some people to also think his art is important. He lives in squalor and shame in a Northern VA townhouse with his partner’s cats.
Armand Popa is a Bucharest-based artist and producer whose work has evolved from indie-leaning psychedelic rock and shoegaze into a raw, high-energy psychedelic rock sound. Entirely self-produced and shaped by years of writing and producing for other artists, his music is driven by fuzz-drenched guitars and immersive textures, offering a critical view of modern society and its emotional impact. His second album, Fuzz Panic, recorded at Avanpost Studio, marks this shift and is designed for an intense live experience.
MT is a form based artist interested in surreal imagery. He tends to prioritize the human figure and pursues a balance between the eerie, yet serene. With a background in graphite, a consistent goal of his is to make his digital work feel traditional.
Emily Holland (they/she) is a genderqueer lesbian writer living in Baltimore, MD. Their debut collection of poems, NOTIFICATIONS ON, won the Jean Feldman Poetry Prize from the Washington Writers’ Publishing House and will be published in January 2027. Their work appears in publications including HAD, Shenandoah, DIALOGIST, Little Patuxent Review, and Black Warrior Review. In 2023, they served as the Chair of Outwrite, DC’s LGBTQIA+ literary festival. She currently teaches creative writing at the George Washington University. They are also the Executive Editor of Poet Lore, America’s oldest poetry journal, and the Communications Manager at The Writer’s Center.
