Green Tea Bitches is a Chinese-Danish dance punk duo that thrives on differences. For them, “bad taste” means freedom. The duo celebrates everything colorful, glittery and awkward. Their sound is energetic, danceable and slightly silly. Just imagine Talking Heads, Charli XCX and Wet Leg starting a circus together. Rooted in their cross-cultural background, Green Tea Bitches turn difference into fuel. Their music embraces the catchy, the noisy, the glittery and the awkward, where the dance floor becomes a space without rules or judgment.
Ashlen Renner is a writer and journalist based in Frederick, Maryland currently working on a hybrid memoir about retracing the life of the German 12th Century Abbess Hildegard of Bingen. Ashlen's writing has been published in DIAGRAM, Ninth Letter, the New Ohio Review, and winner of the NCLR Alex Albright Creative Nonfiction prize. Ashlen holds an MFA in Creative Nonfiction writing from George Mason University.
